Isaac Goodlow III, 30, was shot and killed early Saturday by officers responding to a domestic disturbance call​

Carol Stream (Ill.) Police said they got a 911 call Saturday morning at 4:12 a.m. reporting domestic violence and found Goodlow in his apartment with his girlfriend.

"Officers encountered a tense, uncertain, and rapidly evolving situation which resulted in [two] officers discharging their weapons at the alleged domestic violence suspect".

Goodlow was hit in the chest and pronounced good at Central DuPage Hospital.

"They shot him down like a dog. Like he wasn't even a human being," said Bonnie Pigram, Goodlow’s mammy. The family described Goodlow as quiet and peaceful, but they said he suffered from bipolar disorder.

“A Black man, unarmed, was shot in the sanctity of his own home,” Civil rights attorney Andrew M. Stroth said.

"What we also believe is that Isaac was suffering some form of mental health crisis," said Stroth. "What he was calling for was help, not to be shot by the police."
