74% of girls feel underrepresented in video games
The percentage of female to male gamers across the globe is about the same. As for females to male characters in video games, they're about the same in today's modern world (if you exclude retro games).

...reject the narrow definitions of beauty...
There's a truth to be told here that women tend to judge women more than men judging women in the looks department. Women tend to be more cruel and bullying towards other women, than men are to women. I know this, because I grew up with sisters.

It's also not a secret that women care more about looks than a man does. This can be evidenced in the social media world, where women dominate that entire space. There's even women out there with as much as 15+ Instagram accounts and nearly all of them are applying some kind of beauty filter (or using AI to help them look better in their photos). When we apply this to video games, it's also more obvious that women rather play as a pretty female video game character, rather than a fat ugly female video game character. The additional fact that video game production companies aren't incorporating too many female characters in video games support the fact that they're being pressured by feminists to shy away from wanting to add female characters (that appeal to both females and males). You can't have it both ways.
