They are primarily destructive because of their parasitic nature and their drive to harm others and do evil. They can't cope with order and it's alien to them, it's not part of the jungle. So they "adapt" their environment back to the jungle. Maybe they get headache or troubled vision when they see orderly things that have been produced through labor, it must frustrate them a lot. They must permanently feel threatened by the things they don't understand, disconnected, opposed and lost.
