homemade pulled pork

I bought a 14 pound pork shoulder and said what the hell. I’ve never tried to make it myself. Ended up smoking it at 250 for 9 hours, shredded it by hand, and added diced onions and my grandmother’s secret honey bbq sauce to it to mix in. It wasn’t bad for the first try.

$30 for a throw away cut seemed a bit high but I can freeze most of it and live off it for a month or more. It’s very economical.

When I cook I always think long term like when I make curries and stews I make enough for eight people and freeze the extra portions so we always have something ready, I make chicken balti Cornish and beef pasties then freeze some ready for next time.
