The Sammy Maudlin Show was a hilarious parody of talk shows.
Joe Flaherty played Sammy, John Candy was sidekick William B., Eugene Levy was Bobby Bitman,
Catherine O'Hara was Lola Heatherton. Can I just say one thing? Funny stuff.

January 2024 marked the 30 year anniversary of John Candy's death at age 43. Obesity did him in as was the case of Chris Farley who died in 1997 at only 33.

He had some great characters, Guy Caballero, Count Floyd, and he and John Candy did farm film report.
Blowed up good..blowed up real good.

Yeah, I haven't even watched SNL since around 2000. I often hear it is bad. Chevy Chase described it as an unfunny mess. Former SNL actress Victoria Jackson says it is too leftist and serious and not funny either.
I don't even know who's in the cast.
