Favorite Tablet?

Do any of you folks have a tablet you recommend? I'll be doing some traveling in December and I don't want to lug around my laptop. I just got rid of my ZFold 4, which was great for traveling, but it needed 3 repairs in 2 years (2 under warranty), so I sold it before it could break again.

I've ordered a Samsung A9+ refurb (4GB RAM, 64 GB storage), but I can always return it if there are better options. My way old iPad Mini isn't cutting it any more.

I got a Kindle Fire, I think the 10, it’s pretty decent, battery lasts longer than the iPad. I read my books and watch movies on it. It’s got an internet browser also.

I've owned three Samsung Galaxy Tab S in the past. I don't remember which years I bought them in, but it was good tablet. I mainly used it for reading digital books, watching media and listening to music. I've also owned Apple iPad Pro's. In addition, I've also owned the Microsoft Surface Book Pro 2 and 3. You could detach the screen from the base and use it as a tablet. If I have to be honest, as a laptop, the Surface Book Pro 2 and 3 didn't cut it out for me. I'm a power user and didn't handle most of the tasks/work I needed. On a side note, the Surface Book Pro 3 that I had was fully spec'd out. The store I bought it from had to special order it directly from Microsoft and it still didn't handle most of my daily needs.

I no longer have any of the above in my possession. If you plan on buying a tablet, I'd suggest looking at it as a short-term disposable tech. I personally don't really play mobile games, so my use cases are generally reading a digital book and watching videos. That's about it.

I have a Lenovo Tab-8. Seems to be built well and has pretty good battery life. I think I got it on sale at NigMart for about $100

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm happy with the Samsung I ordered, which cost about $150 delivered from Amazon. As a pleasant surprise it came with a Samsung magnetic case. I don't like the low capacity, so I found a 512GB Samsung SD card on sale for $40 and now it's got more than enough memory. Do we have a download file of all the Chimpout radio shows?

Ah, I forgot the HUGE advantage Samsung tablets have over Apple iPad's is the ability to expand storage via a microSD card and they make it so easy to transfer files by simply plugging the microSD card into a PC, copy files over and then stick the microSD card into the Samsung tablet. Whereas, for iPads, you don't have that luxury and if you want to transfer files over physically from either a PC or Mac, you are forced to use iTunes and 98% of the time, iTunes always fail to work in transferring files over.

You might have to do it 1 by 1. Not sure if there's a single download for it all. For me personally, I've been downloading & storing them on my home share drive since 2014. I have all 103 episodes on my home share drive, but I'm not sure if there's been anything newer. I haven't checked to see if there's been anything newer after 2022.

UK Darkie Destroyer also had his own Chimpout Radio called "Chimpout Britain". I have 9 of his shows, but again, I don't know if there's anything newer.

Finally, if you've ever been a member on the Chimpmania site, which it's probably been over 5 years since I've last logged in, I have a total of 105 of their shows as well on my home share drive. I won't mention anything more of Chimpmania.

Well, everyone already said all there is to say.

I use the Samsung Tab S series. I currently have their Tab S8 Ultra, 14 inch screen. I chose it primarly for remote sessions.
I use it for remote PC, RDP. I also use their "DEX". It is their desktop platform, (proprietary). All the Android apps act like desktop apps and the windows are resizeable.
I carry a Bluetooth keyboard, (separate).
Don't need a mouse because RDP app simulates a mouse very well, two buttons too.
