Nazi-ism is sinister, which is why the cross turns leftwards (also a meaning of sinister). Hitler lost the war early if not long before it; events coalesce as they must; sentience need not participate. Like all lunatic movements it is based on counter-reaction to the unconscious, namely Christian inertia. If German textual criticism of the Bible had been sufficient, nobody would've followed Nazi-ism. It was rude, crude, destructive, and tied up with pseudo-science and irreligious mystery.

Probably, the German intellectuals of the time were trying to escape the Bible with social proofing, rather than reading it in the Greek (or doing so with any Diligence). The English translation is a farce, and given the mood of Latin in the early Christian days it was probably translated badly into German via the same, also. The church never did push the learning of Greek, it seems.
Shallow reactionism to Christianity is also evidenced in a lot of the writing on Christianity by Nietzsche. Christian texts are quite oblique and contain mysteries; because of the influence of The Devil/ related evil, those texts have basically never been translated correctly.
The oblique suggests the personal, but the falsely decided reflects inane representatives. Especially with the hegemony on confusion and violence that was long vested in the darkside of the church in Rome and related Latin.
Only by the soul of Real religion can a man escape the humdrum of nonsense that passes today and has long passed for, culture. A little development has happened in two thousand years, but not much. Philosophy and faith agree as well as man and God; false polarities are pointless. Even so, the very Soul of success is according to Him.
