A woman who viciously robbed a Brooklyn cabbie botched a plea deal by ordering a prison beatdown of a co-defendant she thought had snitched on her, prosecutors say.
Erica Belgrave was supposed to get 13 years in prison for the August 2008 crime that left cabbie Enois Malbranche blind in one eye.
But even as she left the courtroom after pleading guilty last month, the 21-year-old Belgrave was plotting revenge.
"She was yelling to her co-defendant that one of the other co-defendants was testifying against them," prosecutor Caryn Teitelman told Brooklyn Justice John Ingram yesterday.
The next day, on the way to the Rikers Island commissary, Belgrave and pal Ivana Pittman, also charged in the robbery, confronted co-defendant April Pierce, Teitelman said. "The defendants repeatedly struck her with a closed fist [and] were repeatedly yelling the defendant Pierce is a snitch, yelling to the other inmates to f--- [her] up."
