HOUSTON - A man who was indicted with murder in the 2006 disappearance of his 3-year-old son appears in court and is denied bond.
Roderick Fountain, 35, was indicted on June 18 in the murder of Kendrick Jackson, who was last seen on April 7, 2006. An earlier charge of injury to a child was dropped following the murder indictment.
In Fountain's first probable cause court hearing, the judge found probable cause against him. Fountain also faces a charge of making a false statement to police.
Fountain had already been serving a 15-year prison sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm after detectives discovered a shotgun in his apartment during an investigation into Jackson's disappearance.
Investigators and search crews have never found the body of Jackson.
