R Kelly Admits He is Illiterate (VIDEO) - Rapper R Kelly admits he is illiterate, saying in a motivational speech that "he can't read..kinda sorta," reports TheBoomBox.
Always the appealing figure, Kelly was apparently self-deprecating in his description of his reading skills, saying, "I don't even read, really. And I'm not even afraid to say that."
He went on to talk about the power of love, adding, "I got y'all beat if ya hating on me, 'cause I love you. That's why I keep doing what I do. Isn't it weird? 'You just keep on going! How do you keep going and I'm standing here?' 'Cause hatin' is heavy. How you gonna believe you can fly, you too damn heavy. You sinkin'. Stop hatin' and fly."
The Grammy winner was speaking at the Midwest Music Festival in Chicago.
R. Kelly was charged with child molestation with an underage girl in 2001, but was exonerated of those charges after a trial. He continues to maintain his innocence even though a sex tape was leaked regarding the incident.
Kelly's new album 'Untitled' was due to come out on Oct. 12th, but the release date has been pushed back for at least a month for unspecified reasons. (c) tPC
