JACKSON, Tenn. - A Jackson, Tennessee man was arrested Sunday on charges of harboring and sexually assaulting two teenage runaways.
38-year old Ractus Herron faces multiple counts of rape, aggravated stautory rape, aggravated sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
One of the runaways, a 13-year old girl, was found late Friday night at an apartment just outside Jackson city limits on Highway 70 East. She was incoherent from being intoxicated and had to be hospitalized. She told investigators that the other runaway, a 15-year old girl, was still at another apartment with who was later identified as Herron.
Jackson Police went to the apartment described by the 13-year old and found the 15-year old girl and placed Herron under arrest. The 15-year old was taken to the emergency room for examination.
Investigators determined that Herron had picked up the two teen as they were running away from the Madison Oaks Academy facility, then took them to his apartment where he gave them narcotics and alcohol before he allegedly sexually assaulted them.
