STEUBENVILLE -- The jury hearing the case against 24-year old Terry Bickerstaff was found guilty for the murder of Darrell Longmire.
Bickerstaff is found guilty of aggravated murder. The jury says they believe the state proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he was part of a gang when he killed Longmire.
The jury also found him guilty of murder on count two. Prosecutors say that Bickerstaff served time in a Texas prison and was released just prior to the Steubenville murder.
Prosecutor Jane Keenan told the judge that Bickerstaff shows no remorse for the gang related murder. She says he looked into Longmire's eyes and said what now before he fired an additonal bullet into his heart killing him.
Keenan urged the judge to give Bickerstaff the maximum penalty of life in prison with no chance for parole.
Attorney Steven Stickles says the city already lost one of it's sons and he's asking the judge not lose another by sentencing him to life in prison.
Judge Joseph Bruzzese ordered Bickerstaff to serve 36 years to life in prison on all charges.
Bickerstaff tells the judge he will appeal the jury's verdict and will hire his own attorney to defend him.
