Freebies await at many Tampa area restaurants
When will these clowns ever learn. They are just ‘axing’ for chimp outs galore.
TAMPA - Restaurants are quickly learning that nothing seems to bring in the crowds like the magic word: "free."
Free sandwiches, free slices of pie, free anything.
In just the past few months, companies as big as McDonald's and small as one-location diners have started advertising deals for free food to boost their bottom line while playing into people's stress over the economy.
Denny's might have generated the most hype by offering free food, no questions asked. But there are hordes of good deals each day. And that doesn't even count the free doughnuts from Dunkin' Donuts after the Tampa Bay Rays win a game.
Why would companies do this?
Some of the best deals come by signing up with a company online. Sweet Tomatoes sends out free entree salad coupons via e-mail about once a month.
In the spirit of finding more deals, we're asking you, the reader, for help. If you've heard of a deal, or seen one yourself, make a comment under this story, and we'll check it out and add it to this list of free food in town:
