WHEELING -- It's been just over a year since 27-year-old Eric Crayton was shot and died in Wheeling.
24-year-old Shawn Brookins was accused of that murder, and today, he told a judge it started as a scuffle, and he never meant for Crayton to die.
Brookins was charged with murder, but entered a guilty plea in an Ohio County courtroom to the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter.
Brookins told Judge Art Recht that during a fight, the gun discharged, striking Brookins and Crayton.
