A grand jury Monday is expected to consider murder, child abuse and filing a false police report charges against Alfreedia Gregg-Glover in connection with the death of her 13-year-old adopted daughter.
Prosecutors on Thursday temporarily dropped the misdemeanor filing a false police report charge against Gregg-Glover during her appearance in Prince William General District Court.
Prosecutors declared that charge nolle prosequi, which means it will not be prosecuted at this time.
Prince William Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert said his office will send that charge, along with other charges, to the grand jury Monday.
Gregg-Glover, 44, told police that her daughter, Alexis "Lexie" Glover, ran away from her at the Central Library in the Manassas area around noon on Jan. 7.
But police believe Alexis had some sort of medical emergency earlier that day and alleged that Gregg-Glover dumped the girl in a creek and made up the story about her running away.
Earlier this month, the state medical examiner's office ruled the girl's death a homicide and said drowning and exposure to cold killed her.
