    Default rescue dawn

Its a good movie based on the true story of dieter dengler.

He was shot down in laos in 1965 and thrown in a pow camp. he led an escape and was the only one to survive and be rescued. he won the navy cross.

    Yes...a good movie.

I remember the rescue when it happened...I was in the USN then...and I read the book a few years ago.

The movie was an accurate representation of the facts, a pleasant change from the usual Hollywood treatment of such stories. Bale's portrayal of Dengler made him seem a little dorky at times, however.

Dengler's story didn't need embellishment...what really happened to him was enough without any need to jazz it up with bullsheeit, Gnomesain?

I agree christian bales performance was poor, i think they cast him because he looked like the real person.

that stupid smirk he had on his face was a tad unbelievable.
