Walmart is going after Virginia historical landmarks... again. I grew up on George Washington's boyhood home, pretty much. And years ago, Walmart tried to push through building plans to allow them to build a Walmart store, with historical looking facade on the outside, right on that land. Luckily enough people around here were outraged about the thought of Walmart building a store on George Washington's boyhood home and the land within. They got stopped, and they built the store about a mile down the road. Naturally they just discovered the remains of the old house on the property...

"The big picture is, this is beautiful, historic land," she said, pointing a spot just south of the Washington house site, "and to think they wanted to put up a huge berm there" to hide the store. It was just the scariest time. This is the place, I feel, that George Washington's character was made."

Now here we go again, the Wilderness Civil War Battlefield is under a attack by Nigmart now as well. They couldn't trample on George W, so now they figure they'll just trample on Civil War sites.

Wal-mart put a store into my dads home town in Tennessee and I don't believe there were any Niggers in the town at the time. Since there has to be a quota they had a nigger drive a 2 hour drive all the way from knoxville just to have a Coon in the store. Now there are several Niggers in town I don't know the population of them but what ever it's too many. One is enough to ruin small town values.

I try to stay as far away as possible from nigmart. Between their pos made in china stuff, and the concentration of tnb, it is a recipe for disaster.

Disney owns a big chunk of land here in eastern N.C.
It's near by where I live (that's why I know)
It may not be in the Disney Corp. name (you know tax laws) but they tried to get the state to approve the area for a theme park 15 years ago. They lost.
Fears are that they'll get the backing one day (the state will succumb to their bribes) and the Disney Corp will change the landscape here irrevocably.
It would be especially disaterous to the social balance. Let alone the wildlife.

It's a section between Kinston & New Bern on Hwy 70 (mostly farmland, cheaply purchased long ago)
It's still being leased for farming, but one day... Mark my words!

Don't worry, Disney tried the same thing in Virginia years ago. Wanted to turn a HUGE plot of land in Northern VA into a history themed theme park. They also got stopped.
