    Great idea!

That reminds me of one summer when I was working my way thru college I had a job with a big timber company as a choker setter (logger) at a logging camp in SW Washington near Mt St Helens. The supervisors, full-time loggers and mechanics all took 2 weeks off for vacation in August. Another college kid and I, who got no vacation, were paid to spend the time in the logging camp watching over the machinery, equipment and supplies. In one of the sheds was an ambulance...a 1957 Ford panel truck factory-made into an ambulance complete with two sirens and red flashing lights. It was like new with only 7,000 miles on it.

We used to drink beer in the evenings and would take turns driving that ambulance up and down the river canyon road thru camp with the lights on and the sirens wailing!

    Cheap thrills!

The premise of this thread, although a bit scary, will actually happen eventually when there is no more money to support the niggers.

I don't see any other outcome.

So here is what I have come up with and I kind of want some opinions on this, since I haven't gone through with it yet.

I live for auctions, I buy shit constantly at on-site/on-line auctions and there are some fantastic deals out there. One thing I kept seeing pop up, time and time again were retired ambulances. These things still have the logo's on the side, they still have the lights, they still have the CB's and whatever else. The medical equipment is usually stripped out, some still have a stretcher in there, but most are void of those. These things typically have all of their service logs in the glove box, have tons of storage and most of them can haul some serious ass.

With that in mind, I have YET to see one sell for over a grand. Think about that for a minute, one thousand dollars could buy you a mobile bug out vehicle. You could stock up all of your supplies in it for when SHTF, leave it sit in a garage on a battery tender, run some additives to keep the fuel fresh and boom you are done. Even when SHTF, if an ambulance comes barreling down the road, with lights/sirens going, do you think anyone is going to fuck with it? Maybe after a few weeks they would, but if you get out within the first few days you could drive 100+ miles an hour to your destination with few people batting an eye.

I would say that just like the police cruiser, an ambulance would make a very likely target simply because of what is typically stored inside it. Lifesaving drugs and first aid supplies can be more valuable than gold, even when SHTF is not in progress. When SHTF, all of these things will be among the first things to quickly disappear from pharmacy shelves.

I live in an area where 12 million people will all try to use the same bridges and tunnels.

There is no where to go.

I fully expect to among the first to go. It is a reality I face.

Interesting post. I've been around a few decades. I've seen the gradual erosion, if you will, of American society. I was also in the service and traveled extensively. The countries that I previously visited are now mirroring the US, just that they are behind trends a few years. So as the USA goes, pretty much the rest of the developed world will follow.

Growing up we had large numbers of students in class. Teachers ruled with iron fists. We got hit with yard sticks and had our sideburns pulled. But hardly anybody acted out. You feared the wrath. I have old class pictures with 32 kids in them. I can remember a lot of times that the class was completely silent and all you heard was an occasional cough or someone's chair squeak. The reason the teachers had control over the class was because of fear on the part of the student of the repercussion of acting out. Today that fear is all but disappeared from schools. All they have now are empty threats. Kids are quick to see right through that.

With almost 3 dozen kids in the class, there was only 1 kid that didn't live with both parents. The word divorce was never mentioned. That kid would say that his dad worked out of state.

We had a lot of blue collar type dads in the neighborhoods. Guys who went to work on a daily basis to provide for their families. I never heard about food stamps or anything like that. My parents didn't even have a credit card. If you wanted something, you saved until you had enough money to afford what it is you wanted to buy. Things were simpler. People walked. You knew the neighbors. I never remember any for sales signs growing up. People stayed in their homes until their kids grew up and moved away.

Moms mostly stayed at home. Kids weren't left alone for any great amount of time. And if you acted up the neighbors would rat you out to your parents. Then your ass might be sore for a few days after your parents found out. Did it hurt? Sure it did but there were very few repeat incidents. Nobody dropped out of school or truancy wasn't a big issue. There was never any mention of ADD ADHD or ritalin.

Merit and character counted. Nobody was given anything, you had to earn it. There may have been some nepotism but the person getting a good deal had better bring something to the table. Again nobody got anything they didn't deserve.

    Ah the good old days.

This is what I was going to say. There is a caveat in there, though. Most humans, with the exception of Muslims or drug addicts, would not attack an ambulance even if they did need lifesaving medicines immediately, they'd probably try to flag you down instead. Still,I'd scrub all the ambulance emblems and identification off of it.

Mrs. Da Ambalamps and I are both well armed. We keep about 2 weeks of food on hand. We have medical supplies. Thankfully my less than ideal life thus far has given me many skills. Among these are carpentry with old-fashioned tools, black smithing, hunting & bushcraft, auto/motorcycle mechanics, farming (we have seeds), construction, gun smithing, ammo reloading, shooting (I'm scary good, the wife is decent), trapping, leathercraft, cooking, weapon making, and a few others.
American society will collapse, and I believe it will happen within the next ten years. It's a mathematical certainty. When it does the niggers will chimp out as they always do. The whiny wimpy liberals will even go rogue for the most part. In the immortal words of Bocephus; " a country boy can survive." Double that for an ornery biker country boy from Texas. Stay as safe as possible, chimpers.

I've heard some folks, elsewhere, say that they're not going to invest in ammo. They say they will only buy a couple hundred rounds, tops. They say if they need more, they're going to take yours. To that, I say "If you feel froggy, then jump motherfucker."

I've heard of these two trade items being mentioned, tools and booze. When normal trade breaks down, a saw WILL be gold and booze just never goes bad. In the worst case, you'll just end up drinking it .
