Funny, I always viewed it as more of a homage myself. Especially since Snake used the name "Iroquois Pliskin" in "MGS 2". I'd say making direct references to something is hardly ripping it off.

Anyway, yeah, I might have to pass on this new game. I certainly don't want to play as Raiden. They should have left it alone after "MGS 4". It was a good ending for the series.

I do agree that he sold out. I never thought about Raiden being there to appeal to females, but it does make sense. On a side note, I really hate that out of ALL the Sony characters, he's the only one from the "MGS" series that made it into "PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale". Though considering how that game was basically one big advertisement for upcoming games anyway, maybe that was supposed to be a hint. Outside of the nigger characters, he's easily my least favorite of the whole series.

Yep, it's just about how much money they can make off of gamers. They put out these half complete games which you then have to download patches for, usually only fixing a few of the bugs, and then they nickel and dime you to death with dlc (almost always on-disc dlc at that!).

Now you've got Sony and (supposedly) Microsoft rushing out new consoles since Nintendo did, I'm sure all lacking even more backwards compatibility so they can sell you the games again on their stores. It just makes me glad I've become more and more of a PC gamer in recent years.

Yeah. They're pitching out consoles like mad to save their stocks. They sell games to make money, not for entertainment. Quality games should give you a bang with your buck; something you'll remember. From the looks of it, PC gaming looks to be the future because gaming consoles rely on materials that are out of date or cheap plastic.
