western digital help

I have a western digital WD10EADS 1tb hard drive,i need to find a working enclosure for it or a recovery utility, it is full of music and movies that i am not worried about however there are 50gb of photos from my days in the army that i need and are irreplacable. I need these photos,help? I have tried using a vantec nextar 3 enclosure with no luck

What happened? Is the drive corrupted (unbootable) or you're just trying to find a way to connect it?

The drive itself is fine,my dog stepped on the usbcord and that broke the controll board for the western digital enclosure so now all i have is the drive itself

Until you find a suitable controller, you can always hook up the drive itself internally, just for the sake of getting the pictures ASAP. As long as the drive itself hasn't been harmed, you shouldn't need a recovery utility.

Don't bother trying to use an enclosure. Buy one of these http://www.amazon.com/C2G-Cables-305...transfer+cable be it that brand or a different one. It will come in handy through the years. I keep at least 2 on hand at all times.
