A 25-year-old man identified by police as Jovan Jones of Marin City was arrested Saturday night for allegedly raping and robbing a woman after forcing his way into her apartment on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco.
The 26-year-old victim was entering her residence on Alta Street at around 8 p.m. when the suspect pushed his way in, according to San Francisco police Sgt. Michael Andraychak. Once inside, Jones allegedly forced the woman to the floor and threatened to kill her, before demanding money and sexually assaulting her.Less than two weeks ago, on Jan. 3, Jones - described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds - was taken into custody by the Marin County sheriff's office on a bench warrant arrest for an earlier battery case. His bail was set at $5,000, and he was released after a few days.
