Khalil Singleton, a student in the third grade at Hilton Head Island Elementary School, has been identified as the eight-year-old boy who was killed late Saturday afternoon. He was struck by a stray bullet allegedly fired during a gunfight among four "men" in the vicinity of the boy’s rural Allen Road residence on Hilton Head Island.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report, the stray bullet hit Khalil on the left side of his torso. He was rushed by the EMS service to Hilton Head Hospital, where he was pronounced Good.
