Education Week released the study. It ranks Minnesota's graduation rate as the ninth highest in the nation for the Class of 2005, the most recent year for which figures were available.
Minnesota's graduation rate was 78 percent. That compares with the national average of 71 percent.This year's report ranks Minnesota at the bottom of the 37 states that have consistently reported graduation rates for black students. The Class of 2005 graduation rate for Minnesota students was 39 percent, compared with a national average of 55 percent.
