A 22-year-old Kansas City man says he found a racial slur printed on his receipt after returning a pair of shoes.
KMBC-TV in Kansas City reported Tuesday that customer Keith Slater bought the shoes last weekend from Journeys, a store at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kan. A few days later he returned the shoes after finding a cheaper pair at another store.
Slater got his money back but it was not until later that he noticed "Cust: Dumb" followed by the N-word printed on the receipt.
The Slaters returned to the store the next day, but they said they never got a full explanation.
KMBC reported that no one at the store would talk about what happened, and that a spokesman with the Journeys corporate office would only say that the matter is being investigated.
