Police: Phone records revealed lie in Telly Hankton murder case

Phone records show that accused murderer Telly Hankton knew his alibi witness, Danielle Hampton, before she claimed they met as strangers in Audubon Park on May 13, 2008, the same day police say he fired a fatal stream of bullets into Darnell Stewart's face, according to a brief police report.

Second man accused in Jersey City murder surrenders; bail set at $500,000

The second man wanted in the murder of a Jersey City man killed in a hail of bullets this weekend surrendered to homicide detectives this morning, officials said.

Aziz R. Wright, 19, of Kensington Avenue in Jersey City, had his hands cuffed behind his back and was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts when he was led into Central Judicial Processing court

Delaware Man Won't Fight Extradition in L.A. Cold Case


DELAWARE -- Tied to a decades old California murder, 62-year-old Walter Peartree of Delaware County says he won't fight extradition, ABC6/Fox28 News' Mike McCarthy reports Tuesday.

While Peartree remained at the Delaware County jail, he did appear in court -- via video arraignment

Slain woman's ex-boyfriend, wife indicted

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The Wake County grand jury has indicted Laura Ackerson's ex-boyfriend and his wife on murder charges.


The indictment, handed down Monday afternoon, states that Grant R Hayes III aka Grant Haze and Amanda P. Hayes "unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did of malice aforethought kill and murder Laura Jean Ackerson."






Ackerson's dismembered body was found on July 24 in Oyster Creek near Richmond, Texas.

17-year-old charged in Bel Air murder has juvenile record

A 17-year-old accused of stabbing a Bel Air man to death in his home Friday evening has a juvenile record and was previously held at a state juvenile facility, prosecutors said Monday.

Donnell Graham, of the 200 block of Fairwood Drive, was charged as an adult Saturday with first-and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure in connection with the stabbing death of Patrick Xavier Ward.

New Rochelle man gets 20 years in prison for daytime stabbing death

WHITE PLAINS – A New Rochelle man was sentenced in Westchester County Court on Tuesday to 20 years in state prison on his conviction after a jury trial for the fatal stabbing of another man.

Laurell Smith, 21, shouted at the victim, Kevin Williams, through a window as Williams and his uncle walked by. Williams yelled back and an argument ensued at which time Smith left the residence and caught up with the men, pulled a knife and stabbed Smith in the abdomen.

Suspect said he blacked out before stabbing, officer testifies

GAUTIER -- Marius Markee Kirkland told authorities he blacked out before his on-again, off-again girlfriend was stabbed to death while their three children were at home, a detective testified Monday

Kirkland, Gautier Sgt. Matt Hoggatt said, told him he and the victim, Amanda Fallon Perkins, had been having relationship troubles

Update: Murder suspect DeWayne Williams had stolen gun with him when he turned himself in to police


After his mother publicly pleaded for him to surrender to police, DeWayne Montrell Williams turned himself in Monday to face charges in the fatal predawn shooting of 30-year-old Keyonna Monte Chapple.

Williams, scheduled for Columbus Recorder's Court Wednesday morning, had a stolen gun on him when officers arrested him

Second shooter in Carmella Holley tragic death turns self in to Akron police

AKRON, Ohio - The second alleged gunman in the Carmella Holley shooting death has turned himself in to authorities.

Akron police said Vernon Singleton, 25, was accompanied by several family members and an attorney at the police station on Friday. He will soon make his first court appearance.

The other alleged gunman, Terrance Roane, 18, was charged with murder last week.

Murder charges face a Dover man accused of causing fatal injuries to a man during a fight.

33 year old Deshaun Harris is accused of knocking 59 year old Lamont Harris, no relation, unconscious a week ago. The older Harris died of his injuries last Friday.
