Car Theft May Have Motivated Fatal Beloit Shooting

BELOIT, Wis. -- Prosecutors said a car theft motivated a fatal shooting in Beloit.

According to a criminal complaint, Evans Wiggins, 28, shot Shawn Bell multiple times on Aug. 1 after Bell took off in Wiggins' luxury car.

It goes on to say Wiggins jumped in another vehicle and searched for Bell, eventually finding him.

Wiggins is facing a first-degree intentional homicide charge.

Some family members of a 3-year-old boy who died from a gunshot in the head view an arrest warrant issued in the case as a "lose-lose situation."

"No one knows what the exact circumstances are," said William Anderson, a spokesman for Zy'Miere Sewell's mother and her family, on Saturday. "Justice isn't blind in our community."

Late Friday, police charged Gregory Dalton, 18, of Homewood with criminal homicide, carrying a firearm without a license and recklessly endangering another person after a review of the case by the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office.

Police: Murder suspect posed as utility worker in robbery

. One of the men accused of posing as a Pepco worker in the slaying of a Bowie laundromat owner this summer is now charged with pretending to be a utilty worker to rob a Glen Burnie woman.

Craig S. Brooks, 49, was charged with murder in the July shooting death of 44-year-old David W. Williams after Prince George's County police said Brooks and another man posed as Pepco workers to gain entrance to the victim's home.

Jury finds Tia Skinner guilty of murder for attack on parents that led to her father's death

PORT HURON, Mich. (WXYZ) - It took less than an hour for a jury to find Tia Skinner guilty of murder. She was charged with planning the vicious attack that killed her father and left her mother with critical injuries.

Skinner was found guilty on all three charges including First-Degree Murder, Attempted Murder and Conspiracy to Commit First-Degree Murder.

Murder trial is delayed as search for Reserve couple continues

With no defendants, potential jurors for the trial of a Reserve couple accused of murder in the death of their 8 -year-old son were sent home on Tuesday, the day the trial was set to begin at the Edgard courthouse.



Fabian Victor was summoned for jury duty in his parents' case but was excused on Tuesday. For the second day in a row, Tonya and Errol Victor Sr., the siblings' parents, have failed to appear in court for their second-degree murder trial.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office and the state attorney general's office's Fugitive Apprehension Unit, meanwhile, continued their attempts to locate Tonya and Errol Victor Sr. who failed to show up in court for the second day in a row.

Police arrest South Carolina murder fugitive in Miami Beach .






Miami Beach police have arrested a man who was wanted in a murder case last year in South Carolina.

Spencer Lewis McDaniel was taken into custody on Friday after an officer saw him walking along Washington Avenue, according to a report released on Monday.

A 27-year-old Charlotte man is in jail charged with murder after police say he beat another man to death.

Jason Lamont Hill is in Mecklenburg Jail with no bond, accused of killing 57-year-old Clayton Alexander.

Russell County murder trial begins

Prosecutors, defense agree that Adrian Ezell, 38, shot his wife, Felisha

Attorneys say Adrian Maurice Ezell stood over his wife, already wounded by gunshots, in their Russell County home last year and shot her another six times, execution style, because of her relationship with another man.

The 38-year-old Ezell, whose murder trial began Monday, doesn’t deny the accusations but he questions whether it was murder or a case of a man pushed too far.

Referee commits suicide after police find wife killed in home

College basketball and former NBA referee Troy Raymond committed suicide in a New Orleans hotel room late last week just hours after police found his wife's body in their Houston-area home.

Police found his wife, Leslie Anderson Raymond, 41, deceased at their home in Spring, Texas, at 2:08 p.m. on Friday.

Constable Tim Holifield of Montgomery County Precinct Three told CBSSports.com that the medical examiner ruled the cause of death a homicide caused by asphyxiation due to manual strangulation.

"We're not prepared to tell you who's responsible," Holified said. "But certainly Mr. Raymond is a person of interest -- and his death brings about more questions than answers."
