The Manatee County Sheriff's Office has arrested Dominque Glover, 19, of the 900 block of 37th Avenue Terrace East, Bradenton.

A sheriff's report said Wilkie Holmes was driving home on 37th Avenue East when he observed Glover riding his son's bike. Mr. Holmes turned around and stopped Glover.

Glover got off the bike, ran to a nearby residence and disappeared from sight.

Holmes told deputies as he was loading the bike into the back of his vehicle he saw Glover walk back out into the street and point a pistol at him. Holmes said he then saw the muzzle flash and heard the bang of a gunshot.

Holmes said Glover then fooled with the pistol for a minute, so Holmes jumped into his vehicle, drove home and called 911.

Holmes told arriving deputies Glover lives a few doors east of him on the same road.

Deputies responded to that house and the homeowner provided deputies Glover's full name; the homeowner also was able to tell deputies where a nearby friend of Glover's lives.

Lt. Stan Schaeffer responded to that location and within minutes he saw Glover walk from the side of the house and enter the house.

Deputy Jenkins and Deputy Barbosa responded and located Glover hiding in a back bedroom.

Glover admitted to stealing the bike but denied shooting at the victim.

The victim responded to their location and positively identified Glover as the person who shot at him.

Glover was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

As of Sunday afternoon, Glover remained in the Manatee County Jail without bail.
