Macon Police: DNA Match Solves Murder

Macon police say DNA evidence helped them solve a murder.

A Bibb County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Robert L. Reeves Jr. on a charge of felony murder.

He's accused of killing 23-year-old Crystal Morgan, whose body was found last July 29 in woods off Pio Nono Avenue and Bells Terrace, according to police.

A Macon police news release says the national Combined DNA Index System matched DNA taken from the scene to Reeves.

The Bibb County sheriff's office says Reeves has been in the county jail since Jan. 4, charged with a probation violation and violating the Georgia sex offender registry.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation's sex-offender registry website says Reeves was convicted of attempted rape in 1998.

Police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet say no further information was available on the case, including when and how Reeves allegedly killed Wagner.
