There was an Argentine colony on Los Malvinas around 1821 or so but it failed after a few years. Then, England established a colony there in 1833 which has persisted to this day.

However, that 1833 colonization violated the Monroe Doctrine of 1820 in which the US warned European powers to make no more incursions or attempted colonization in the New World.

If we adhere to the Monroe Doctrine, Britain should be told to GTFO and give the islands back to the Argentines.

The Monroe Doctrine has no national or international legal standing to be violated. I have no bias for either country, but the Islands belong to the Brits if they've held them for 180 years.
