Teen murder suspect to be tried as adult



ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- A 17-year-old St. Louis resident is now certified to be tried as an adult for a murder that occurred when he was 16.

Police say LeDale Nathan, Jr. faces 26 counts in connection with the October 5th home invasion shootings that killed a woman and injured two others in the LaSalle neighborhood of St. Louis.

In addition to first-degree murder, Nathan is charged with armed criminal action, assault, robbery, burglary and kidnapping.

A second suspect, 22-year-old Mario Coleman, has twelve charges filed against him, including first-degree murder.

A jury has found a man guilty of first-degree murder in a 2009 home invasion that left one woman dead and an off-duty police officer and off-duty firefighter seriously wounded.

The main question for the jury was whether Mario Coleman, 24, is guilty of first-degree murder in the killing of Gina Stallis, a nurse and mother of two young boys, or a lesser charge of second-degree murder, which the defense says is more appropriate.
