A 20-year-old Akron man was sentenced today to 46 years in prison for a series of armed robberies and other violent crimes involving University of Akron students in May and early June last year, authorities said.

Davarius C. Allen, who gave police an address on Sumner Street, was convicted last week in a Summit County jury trial on eight counts of aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of rape and a count of felonious assault, all with gun specifications.

Great! (no, not so great!) Since he was given 46 years, that means he will most likely be let loose on parole in as little as 10 years or set free in 23 years & we, the tax payers will have to provide for all his needs & wants while in the pokey & again when he is out. :ktty :fume
