POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -- The Broward Sheriff's Office said two detectives were injured Wednesday night after a suspect's mother hit them with her sport utlity vehicle.
According to the BSO, detectives attempted to pull over 25-year-old Joe Morgan in the 4000 block of West Atlantic Boulevard at about 7:30 p.m. when he refused to stop and fled from detectives.
Detectives Albury Burrows and Myko Coker eventually caught up with Morgan when he became stuck in traffic and ordered him out of the vehicle. He refused and fought with detectives, according to the BSO.
As Morgan was being removed from his vehicle, his mother arrived and struck the deputies with her SUV, according to the BSO. Apparently, Morgan called 42-year-old Carman Thompson-Wilson while he was making his getaway.
