MONROEVILLE, Ala. -- A Monroe County grand jury today indicted three niggers on multiple counts of forcible rape and sodomy and added statutory rape and sodomy charges in connection with a sexual assault against two 14-year-old girls last month.
District Attorney Tommy Chapman said no charges would be filed against one of the girls whom police believe helped arrange the encounter that turned into a horrific attack.
"I think she is a victim here, too," Chapman said today, hours after the grand jury returned indictments. "She knew they were meeting the suspooks for sex, but I don't think she realized there would be a gang attack on her friend. She is very remorseful at this point. Her friend thought they were just going to listen to music."
Chapman said Steven Scott, 20, of North Semmes; DeShon Riley, 16, and Justin Williams, 17, both of Monroeville, were indicted on two counts each of forcible rape and sodomy in connection with the injured girl, and Scott and Williams were indicted on statutory rape and sodomy charges in connection with the second girl.
