Malcolm Johnson is suspected in two rapes in the Rockaways in October.
Cops arrested a rape suspect Tuesday after his DNA matched crime-scene evidence from two sexual assaults in Queens last month, police sources said.
Malcolm Johnson, 23, was taken into custody at his home in Queens, where cops confiscated a gun. He was put in lineups at the 101st Precinct stationhouse, and charges were pending, police said.
Johnson has a criminal record and his DNA was on file from a prior arrest for an assault, sources said.
Cops believe he's responsible for two attacks in the Rockaways late last month. In both, the rapist showed a gun and wore latex gloves and condoms. A condom was recovered near both scenes, a law enforcement source said.
In the first rape, the gunman grabbed a 25-year-old woman as she exited a subway station on Beach 67th St. and forced her into an alley.
The next day, about 5:20 a.m., the rapist seized a 21-year-old on the corner of Beach Channel Drive and Beach 56th St., forced her into a nearby building and raped her.
"Follow my instructions and I won't kill you," the gunman demanded of his victims, sources said.
