"Given half a chance" -- that's the title of a report issued Friday by The Schott Foundation for Public Education, an organization that supports efforts to increase equity in resources and results in education.
Not surprisingly, given resuls that have been publicized in recent years, Wisconsin did substantially worse than the nation as a whole.
Examples: The black male graduation rate in Wisconsin for 2006 was 36%, compared to a white male rate of 87%, a gap (when rounding is included) of 50 points, the report said. The national gap was 28 points. Comparing the figures between 2005 and 2006, the national gap widened by one point nationally and by two points in Wisconsin.
HERE IS THE LIBERAL EXCUSE:
Black males are not being given the same opportunities or quality of programs as whites, the report said.
::rofl
