The Sabine grand jury met in special session today and as a result amended a bill of indictment to reflect that Martrell Lynch will stand trial for aggravated arson and the first-degree murder of LaTasha Nigreville. He had been charged as an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and aggravated arson.
Nigreville, 24, was hit in the back of the head and rendered unresponsive.
Autopsy reports indicate she was dead before gasoline was used to set Nigreville’s house on fire, authorities said. Nigreville’s burned carcass was found hours later as firefighters searched for hot spots in the debris.
