Anybody ever read Hemmingway's "Islands in the Stream?"

I could never understand Hemingway's aversion to adjectives and adverbs.

Sometimes it worked. The Sun Also Rises is pretty classic. A Farewell to Arms just seems pretentious to me. I never read "Islands" but I did see the film version with George C. Scott--does that count?
No, but it was a pretty good movie.
