Additional police, counselors expected at Locke High in wake of brawl

Rivals at Locke High School will have the weekend to cool off after a massive fight prompted school police to call the LAPD for backup.
A brawl between blacks and Latinos involving as many as 600 students broke out just before 1 p.m. Friday, and it took about a half-hour for police to restore order on the campus at San Pedro and 111th Street, Los Angeles police said.
