At the half way points how is your MLB team doing? It seems there are a lot of teams still in it. My team, the Cubs, suck ass. It's amazing we are at .500. I have no idea how. We have no hitting and our bullpen sucks. About our only bright spot is rookie pitcher Randy Wells. We were supposed to make a trade for Peavy but I guess they were asking too much. Randy Wells has given us everything Peavy would have so far.

The only thing keeping us 3.5 games out is our starting pitching. (With the exception of Hardin) We are getting some key people back from the D.L, so we'll see. The hitting has improved slightly but needs to significantly improve for there to be a chance. But, the N.L Central is weak so first place is there for the taking. All you need to do is make it to the playoffs, then anything can happen. Never say die !

The Phillies are doing pretty well. We're in first place, 4 games ahead of the Marlins. The big stories in Philly right now are the signing of Pedro Martinez and the possibility of trading for pitcher Roy Holladay from Toronto. The asking price for Holladay seems too high, IMO - the Phils would be giving up a good part of their future to get the deal done.

It should be another "down to the wire" finish in the NL East. The Marlins are always tough. The Mets are not doing well right now, but with a whole second half to go there's more than enough time to get back into it. Even Atlanta has made a few rumbles here and there. Hopefully the Phils will come out on top when it's all done.

I am a sports fan but I can't stand baseball. (*** Feels Poo and the gang getting ready to punch me in the head***) I view it like golf. It is fun to play but boring to watch. If I were to cheer for any team in the league it would be the Twins as I have family in Minnesota.

I still do think I should be commisioner as I would make a few changes. Batters are allowed to carry their bats when they run the bases for defence purposes before being tagged out. The three batters and the inning is over rule is changed a bit to the 3 batters to get knocked out with the pitchers pitch is an inning change. Bring back the Nigger Leagues and encourage Inter-League Play where the Chicago White Sox wear comical entertaining cone shaped hats. Any nigger player can not use a glove or a bat and has to wear a steal chained ball around its leg.Dugouts must also be equipped with a full time liquor staff to make the players more entertaining when they sit at the mount and so boringly await that pitch and when the batter is not ready to pitch the commentators will not talk about his stats but about women's breasts.

My ideas would improve the game. :think:party:thup

Some good ideas KFC. I'd like to add a few as well. Steroids and amphetamines should be encouraged. (Actually, I am pretty sure they do amphetamines. I saw this former Cub player being interviewed about a book he wrote. He said that in the clubhouse they would have 2 pots of coffee, one that they called leaded and the other was unleaded.:lol) I say the more steroids they take, the better. It would bring more action to the game.

Also for the game of the week, it would be mandatory every player must take 5 hits of LSD 2 hours before the game. Maybe have the alcohol game of the week, where every player must blow a .2 before starting the game.:drunk

3.5 games behind who?

*cough cough*

Yeah, my Cardinals are in 1st.

The Cards got DeRosa (ha ha!), and as soon as everyone gets healthy, they will be untouchable. There's an opening for one more starter (Fuck Wellemeyer).... and they're looking but I don't know if they're gonna get who they want. I will stick with Cards all the way. Now, my calls for the downfall of the Cards have been somewhat unfounded (the pen), but there's yet more work that has to be done since the DeRosa trade. Let it simmer, I say. There's plenty of talent down in AAA that can cut the slack, if you ask me. Which is what this owner has been going after since he came in. Maybe he's not so bad after all!

But my whole Central lineup from day 1 is all fuckered up at this point!
But I'm still calling Cards/Cubs down the stretch. THIS WILL GET GOOD!

Let's Drop the Brew crew down a few notches.
Somewhere behind the Stros, Then Reds, Then Bucs.

I stick by my pre-season pics!

Oh, the other divisions and other league?
Who gives a damn?

I hate to say this but it looks as if the Cards will take it. They have the starting pitching and a good closer. They have just enough offense to get them by. Hopefully that goddamn Pujols will have a major accident.:lol You will like Derosa man. He was one of the most consistent players we have had the past few years and can play any position. It is beyond me why we traded him for nobody. Now we are fucked at second base.He wasn't even making that much. Word is that him and Pinella didn't get along.

I haven't really been following baseball as close as I usually do because I have been really busy this summer. I need to start recording the games and watching them when I have the time.

Still a long way to go !

The Brewers will fade, along with everyone else. It probably will be Cubs/Cards till the end.

Cards starting? They gotta stay healthy. Franklin? (closer) I hate to say it, but he's pretty fluky. The middle-relieving section is still as shaky as a midget with tourettes. The Cards have NO middle relief, man.

Oh yeah... The DeRosa trade? So far nothing (injury already!) Once Glaus comes back there will honestly be no room for him. A stupid trade if you ask me, but worth it to see Cubbie fans squirm :lol

It will be good down the stretch, I tell you what, man. I will agree that!

What I like... that in ever fucking category (except for starters -- you losers) the Cards/Cubs matchups are pretty fucking dead even. If you throw big number 5 (Pujols) out of the mix, there's two VERY even offenses. But one man cannot carry a team.

I've been saying it for a while.... this years' central will be worth watching. And its gonna be the Cards/Cubs down the stretch man. Worth it down do the wire.... and I hope that one of the two grab the NL.

And the Brew Crew?!?!? Fuck em! I'm with ya!

According to this link, you are right. Take that fucking Pujhols out of the mix and we do have very similar teams. We also have a shitty bullpen, especially middle relief. It's gotten better though.

I'll take Franklin any day over our closer, Gregg. This guy has also gotten better but blew many games for us early on. Franklin has an ERA under 1 and has saved 20 out of 21. I think he is getting old though.

I also believe a team needs chemistry to win. It doesn't matter how much talent you have, if the chemistry isn't there, you won't win. I really think this uppity nigger Bradley has something to do for damn near the whole team season slump. I was not too happy when I heard we signed him.aaahhh

My Cubbies are sucking AGAIN?

How much longer, oh Lord? :lol
