What's the best Metallica album? Ya, they are the biggest sell outs ever but you can't take away what they did. Personally, I think anything after Load was a load of shit.

Anyone learning to play guitar, Kill 'em All is a great beginner album to self teach yourself. And Justice For All has got to be their best in my opinion. There are a lot of Metallica cover bands but they won't touch anything off And Justice except for One, it's just too hard to play. That album is a masterpiece except for the last song.

With Cliff Burton, best band ever. Without Cliff Burton, typical MTV "metal".

One of my favorite mainstream bands. And Justice For All is in my top 5 favorite albums of all time. They did sell out big time, but their old shit is by far the best heavy metal ever written. If you disagree, I will kill you.:lol

"Trapped under ice" off of Ride the lightening has got to be my fave metallica song. Kill 'em all & ride the lightening tie for #1 with me.

definitely Puppets, Justice is a close second. Cliff was great but I also have a lot of respect for Newstead.

All the old stuff was good But I have to say master of the puppets without a doubt in my mind. Load was shit and so was reload. Not that it was bad for music just shit compared to what they use to come out with.

From Kill'em All to And Justice For All is awesome. But from 'Load' of crap on, especially that St. Anger shit, sucks as bad as Lars Ulrich.
I wouldn't pay a penny to take a piss on any of their heads now.
About a month after the St. Shitter release, the local CD exchange put up a sign that said "We are no longer taking Metallica's St. Anger for purchase or exchange because of excessive inventory."
I looked in the used section and there was at least 15 copies and another 15 in the new stuff. The guy at the cash register said that was a small amount compared to what they had in storage. He said he had been employed there about 8 months and that CD had more people exchanging/trading it in than anything he had seen. He even thought it sucked!

I had to go with Garage Days, even though they didn't write any of those tunes. The first time I heard it was at an underground punk show and I was blown away, and I didn't even know what band I was listening to.

Metal was still emerging then, and for someone to make such a clean yet underproduced work (of covers nonetheless) was unheard of.

The cassette had the same songs on each side, and my roommate had an auto reverse tape player, so if you loaded up this tape you could listen to it forever. Well at least until someone complained, which was like an hour.
