I agree, Dwight! I graduated from a state university in '79 and though I partied like a rodeo clown-I earned a Bachelor's in Business Management. I admit I did not finish high school. At 17 I got my GED and spent 6 years in the navy. This was in 78-84 and in the navy I was an electronics tech on a sub. After then I worked a few dead end jobs and now work for myself as a auto tech, fancy name for mechanic.
I can say in some ways I could have used those basics I did not learn but I have learned to teach myself. Higher education is not for everyone but if there is one youngster here I hope they stay in school because those subjects you think are stupid now may help you in the future. Even if you go the trade route you need good math, communication, comprehension and writing skills.
Today if one of my kids even thought of quitting school I would put a boot up their ass!
