One real life example of a holocaust is what the allies did in Dresden with their firebombing of innocent civilians. That event truly exemplifies the word. Everything else given that title is just semantics.

Holocaust has the same meaning and function as the word racist as that it can be manipulated to cause seemingly sane and intelligent people to write large checks to donate to others causes that will in some way ease the donors feelings of self hatred.

No Jew bashing, please. People have lost grandparents, etc. because of the Holocaust.
