Police Charge Man In Connection With 3-Year-Old's Beating Death

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Pa. -- Northampton County authorities have arrested a man in connection with the killing of his girlfriend's 3-year-old son.
The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Eugenio Torres. Torres has been charged with murder, NBC 10 News reported.
Investigators said he beat niglet Elijah Strickland to death Tuesday inside an apartment building on the 300 block of South 17 Street in Wilson.
Strickland was killed just a month shy of his fourth birthday.
The boy was found around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday inside his mother's apartment.
On Tuesday, someone called 911 from the apartment in Northampton County. Police would not say who the caller was or what was the emergency.
NBC 10 reported, Torres was in police custody around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
An autopsy Wednesday morning confirmed Strickland was beaten to death with multiple, severe injuries to his entire body.
Authorities said his injuries included burns to his legs and buttocks, a black eye and a lacerated liver.
