Three more carjackings were reported Monday night and early today in Charlotte, bringing the two-day total to five.
A woman told police her 2003 Cadillac was stolen by a man who indicated he had a gun. It happened in the 8000 block of Cambridge Commons Drive, off Harrisburg Road near Interstate 485.
The stolen vehicle has N.C. license tags XPK-7761. The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall with a medium build and dreadlocks. He was wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt.
The second carjacking ended with arrests. It happened about 10:05 p.m. in the 4900 block of Central Avenue, near Winterfield Drive. Police say a man's Toyota SUV was taken, but quick-responding officers spotted the stolen vehicle minutes later on Central Avenue.
The third case happened shortly before 4 a.m. in the 3400 block of Freedom Drive, near Tuckaseegee Road. A man told police his gold 1998 Cadillac DeVille was taken by force by a man. The vehicle's N.C. license tags are TVR-3842.
