I am rather bored so I thought I would waste some bandwidth here. It is sunny again now, but a bit ago it was raining like hell. I think the forecast said we are in for a honey of a thunderstorm tonight. Sweet....

Maybe I am just fucked in the head, but the more violent and crazy a thunderstorm is, the more relaxed I feel. Last week a t-storm ripped Fargo a new ass and I loved every minute of it. Am I the only one who likes it when nature shows us who is really in charge?

It was incredible! The thunder was deafening and the lighting was so frequent it lit up the night for nearly an hour. Spectacular! The wind was really howling and the rain was pouring down in buckets. I put on a pair of shorts and went outside. Most people hide in the basement when a storm comes along. Fuck that- I go outside and play in it!

For some reason, thunderstorms with hail, lightening and thunder actually make me sleepy... Many mornings I have gone to work and someone asks me what I thought of the storm the night before.... I usually sleep right through them and it pisses me off! I am like "What fucking storm?" They look at me like I am idiot... ha!

Anyone else love the fury of nature? It is so powerful, and it puts humans in our place. When a blizzard hits, and I mean a real blizzard- I think its time to pull out the four-wheel drive old Chevy with the big tires and go cruising down some old country road with a 12 pack....

People think I am nuts for doing this, but to me, its a perfect way to relax and tell the whole world to go and fuck itself.

I thought I was probably the only person who loved thunderstorms. They are the thing I miss most about the midwest.
I always felt calmed and relaxed as soon as I heard the first crack of thunder.
I'm now envious of all you who live in stormy territory. I'll probably move from this state one of these days and I'll definitely go somewhere again with nice relaxing storms....and no niggers.
I would not, however, go outside and fart around in the midst of lightning. I'm not that brave.
And yes...blizzards are cool too, but not as cool.

No Odin, you're not alone. I've been a weather fanatic ever since I was a kid, especially after experiencing my very first tornado in Missouri. Tornadoes are my fascination, along with severe thunderstorms in general.

I love to sit there and watch a strong thunderstorm form in the distance. It's Mother Nature painting her own picture as the clouds merge to become one. Even more interesting is what is going on inside those silver-lined wonders, and what they're capable of.

Supercells are the most fascinating and beautiful in my opinion, and are also the most dangerous; more likely to produce strong damaging winds, hail and tornadoes. They are also the most complex in terms of their formation. We've had a string of severe thunderstorms around here lately as well, and I've been in heaven!

Thunder and lightning are NOT GOOD here in Northern California this time of year!

Currently here in Shasta, Butte, and Trinity counties there are over 100 wildfires burning as a result of lightning and only a handfull are being fought.
There's not enough manpower to address even 10% of them.

Houses, farms, and businesses are being lost and people are being devistated!

I too have always loved the rain and thunderstorms, they relax me. After being through Katrina though...I hate to admit ; I get frightened at times. I watched the danger and destruction in my own front yard and ever since then, Ill sometimes worry about the tornadoes and heavy downpours.
But your average rain showers and the power of nature is a beautiful thing!!

I live in Florida, the lightning strike capital of the world. In the last few weeks we have had some spectacular cells roll through here. The kind where the sky goes from sunny and warm to dark, cool and windy in about 20 minutes. And of course there's lots of lightning.
The most beautiful storms I ever saw were in the two years my wife and I lived in Kansas when I was in the army. Man those summer cells would roll through and the lightning was the most spectacular I ever saw. I remember one night my wife and I watch a cell roll in over the valley where Junction City and Manhattan lay, and there was continuous lightning flashing back and fourth across the clouds. It was magnificent! I miss Kansas and those storms.
