I have tried everything that I could think of to get the sound back on and nothing works. I logged of the net last night and everything seemed to be working fine. This morning I logged on and watched a video on this site and discovered that my computer had no audio. I have no idea what is going on with my computer, any input or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Toecutter, try the following:

Is there a speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner? If so, right click and open audio properties and make sure the mute box ain't checked. If there's no icon, open the audio properties in the control panel and ensure the mute box is unchecked and check the box that says to display icon.

If none of that works, do a system restore to a day or 2 ago and that will proably do the job.thumbsup

I'm using a laptop with a built in speaker. I have checked to make sure that the sound is not muted. I also went into the sound properties and everything appears to be in order. I hate to pay someone to fix something that is probably a simple fix.(videos without sound really suck.)

That's really, really odd. Do you have a set of headphones you can plug in to see if that output is working? If it's not, it's definitely a strong chance it's just a software glitch.

I can't find a set of headphones that will plug into my computer. By days end I will locate a set and see if I can get any audio that way. This is wierd, everything worked fine last night.
