Jamie Fox has publicly apologized to Miley Cyrus for going off on a rant on his satellite radio program, during which he suggested she make a sex tape, catch an STD, and do drugs. Apparently, even in these modern times, a grown man can't say all that in relation to a 16-year-old girl and not have to apologize for it later. Nice to know the universe hasn't completely lost its mind.
Foxx used his appearance on "The Tonight Show" last night to make amends with Miley. When asked by Leno if he'd said something inappropriate, Foxx said, "Yeah." He then took a few deep breaths before launching into his apology. (We imagine this was hard for him, as Foxx isn't known for being the humblest of men.) Said Foxx, "I so apologize to [Cyrus], and this is sincere. I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don't mean any of it." (The audience loved this. They cracked up.) Foxx continued, "And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far."
Foxx wasn't done. He continued, "I have a radio show...We're really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn't mean it maliciously. You know I'm a comedian. You know my heart. Miley, I apologize, so I'll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand."
Umm, no offense Jamie, but we doubt Miley's really looking forward to your call. She's got a 20-year-old underwear model boyfriend to hang out with, she doesn't need to waste her time getting apologies from mean "comedians." (Sorry, Jamie, but we're putting it in quotes. It's been a while since you made us laugh. Not that "The Soloist" doesn't look hilarious.)
