State police have arrested the Erie Community College women’s basketball coach on charges of fraudulently collecting more than $5,000 in undeserved unemployment benefits.
Cummings-Price, 36, of Oakgrove Avenue in Buffalo, is accused of improperly collecting unemployment benefits while she was employed as the women’s basketball coach at ECC (Erie community college).
She is charged with grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing, both felonies, and was released on an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Buffalo City Court on Wednesday.
Cummings-Price, who played on the University at Buffalo women’s basketball team from 1993 to 1995, has been the head coach at ECC since the 2006-07 season.
She was one of 30 people honored for their service to the community at the annual Black Achievers in Industry Awards banquet last fall.
