Arthur Triche is hoping to run Lenny Dykstra out of business, the same way Don Imus was booted from the airwaves after making racist comments about the Rutgers women's basketball team two years ago.
Triche, the vice president of public relations for the Atlanta Hawks, told the Daily News Tuesday that he will no longer allow Dykstra's magazine, The Players Club, anywhere near the locker room after a GQ story painted the former Met as a racist and homophobe. He also plans to call the NBA and NFL player associations and urge them to boycott the publication.
"Whether the NBA does something or not, I'm going to do it, and I feel it's important given my standing with the league," said Triche, who has worked in sports for nearly three decades and was the first African-American to head an NBA team's media relations department.
