Well I use Roxio Creator 2009 with mine 32 bit and 64 bit vista machines. You might want to try that.

I would recommend Cheetah. I've been using it for years (with XP), and it gets the job done without being bloatware. They claim it works in Vista too, but I can't vouch for that from personal experience. I have no reason to doubt it though.

Open tool options for win dvd, uncheck all the filters, and see if it helps. You can also download the vista codec pack,
google--- vista codec package 4.5.9.

I have Nero running on XP,vista, now vista sp2,and windows 7, not sure why you coulkd not run it.

If you are just wanting to burn a dvd,you can just put the files into your drive and windows will burn them, there is a
software called alcohol, what ever you pick, you should do a google search on it and see what kind of problems other people have with it on vista.

Dvd also has some problems with different formats,mov,flv,mp3, you might have to convert the file to wmv before it will see it.

Give CDBurnerXP a try. Despite the name, it can make DVD discs as well.

I'm using it with XP 64-bit. I would guess that it would work with Vista. Even if it doesn't, it's free so you have nothing to lose.

I have 64 bit Vista and use Nero. Works great.

Why Vista?

I've always figured that XP was better, so I use XP-64. The downside is that there's no native support for DX10 in XP, but I know that with a little work it's possible. In my mind OpenGL is better than DX.

I normally use Nero but if you want a free burn ware ISO recorder for 32 bit Vista (http://download.cnet.com/ISO-Recorder/3000-2646_4-10691825.html) or 64bit Vista (http://download.cnet.com/ISO-Recorder-Windows-Vista-64-bit-/3000-2646_4-10691831.html) both can be downloaded at Cnet as well. I keep each of these on a usb pendrive so I can have familiar tools to use on anyone's computer since these don't require a registration.

Why Vista? Because it's what came on my new computer.
No other reason.
